The Jerry Sandusky Child Molestation Scandal:
This is the guy who not only abused dozens of young children but toppled the career of legendary football coach Joe Paterno and brought shame to the name of Penn State University.
Jerry Sandusky worked as an assistant for Paterno for the Penn State football team.
Sandusky achieved some personal success, as he was named Assistant Coach of the Year in 1986 and 1989.
He also authored several books relating to his college football experiences.
But under the guise of The Second Mile, a nonprofit charity he founded in 1977, Sandusky lured young boys …
…and in 2011, while maintaining an office at Penn State, he was arrested and charged with 52 counts of sexual abuse of young boys over a 15 year period.
Not only was Sandusky convicted and sentenced to 30 to 60 years in prison.
He also ruined the career and reputation of his former boss and mentor Paterno…
…who was forced to resign and died a few months later of cancer.
And to top it off Sandusky spoiled the reputation of Penn State, which was barred from certain NCAA activities until being restored in September 2014.
